MRVL Skin Solutions, an innovative anti-aging skincare brand which has blue scorpion venom as its hero ingredient, has set its sights on travel retail.
Launched last year with English actress Kate Beckinsale as its spokesperson, MRVL Skin Solutions is the brainchild of US entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of the world’s largest blue scorpion farm, Ricky Langley.
Aka #scorpion.rick with 1.4 million Instagram followers, Langley spearheaded the development of MRVL Skin Solutions after considering the benefits of blue scorpion venom in health and skincare issues.
As the MRVL Skin Solutions website points out, scientists across the globe have long researched the complex compounds found within blue scorpion venom.
While claiming that blue scorpion venom “yields astounding anti-aging results” MRVL also answers the question as to why other manufacturers are not incorporating the ingredient into their products. The answer, it says, is simple: “Scorpion venom is the most expensive liquid on earth, estimated at US$39 million per gallon”.
Native to the Caribbean, the blue scorpion possesses a venom that for centuries was believed to have important medicinal uses. After decades of researching this natural phenomenon, scientists discovered a peptide contained in the venom that has powerful properties in multiple applications. Today, blue scorpion venom is touted as the most expensive liquid in the world. |
“While their focus was on researching how the venom had a powerful impact on cancer patients, MRVL Founder Rick Langley was intrigued by the unmatched anti-aging skincare properties in the venom.”
MRVL labs perfected a technique to isolate, extract, and purify the complex compounds within the non-poisonous venom and discovered a ‘groundbreaking’ ingredient in anti-aging: Blue Scorpion Peptide. This chain of amino acids has, according to MRVL, been clinically proven to stimulate natural collagen production, fight free radicals, help regenerate symptoms of damaged skin and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The MRVL Skin Solution product line-up – featured on the brand’s website – includes Anti-Aging Firming Serum (US$195), Retinol Repair Night Cream (US$185), HA Hydrafill Cream (US$175), Arnica Recovery Cream (US$175), and Super Rich Eye Cream (US$180). Sets include the MRVL Diamond Extravagance, priced at US$910.
5% of every purchase supports Today’s Promises, a non-profit charity founded by Langley to help and support impoverished children in the Caribbean.
Privilege Media Group Worldwide is leading MRVL Skin Solutions’ international expansion drive. The group’s President and CEO Johnathan Michel said the brand is targeting all travel retail channels. MRVL is also interested in partnering with a leading travel retailer to extend its MRVL Boutique and Spa concept already offered at MRVL Spa Turks & Caicos.
“MRVL Skin Solutions is proud to introduce their luxe skincare product brand for sale and distribution in association with leading travel retailers throughout the USA and around the world,” he said.
“It is the perfect match for travel retail. Our vision is to create balanced retail product offerings that upscale travellers’ demand and expect by affording them luxe skincare products for their health and beauty needs, as well as a luxurious and relaxing spa experience before and after their travel destinations.”
MRVL Skin Solutions is part of the MRVL Group which also includes MRVL Health and MRVL Pet, a health science company that develops innovative, naturally-derived dietary supplements and nutraceuticals for pets. Its formulas and products feature Blue Scorpion Peptide.
