OMAN. Muscat Duty Free has teamed up with Travelex in a promotion at Muscat International Airport that runs until the end of June.
Travellers who exchange over RO100 with Travelex will receive a voucher, which they scratch to reveal a prize. Prizes include a Samsung Galaxy tablet, fragrances or a discount to shop at Muscat Duty Free.
Muscat Duty Free Operations Manager Pat O’Connor said: “This is our first time to run a promotion of this kind. Our aim is to increase the penetration rate to both our Departures and Arrivals shops. We hope to encourage passengers using the currency exchange to avail of the exclusive discounts across our range of products.”
Travelex Oman General Manager Peter McNally said: “We are very excited to be teaming up with Muscat Duty Free. It is an excellent opportunity for us to reward our customers for exchanging their currency with us. We aim to increase our ATV across all our shops in the airport.
“The beauty of the promotion is that everyone is a winner: all vouchers will contain a prize and for every RO100 a customer exchanges, they will receive a voucher. All passengers, whether they are arriving or departing in Muscat, will be able to participate in the promotion.”
O’Connor added: “If a customer wins two vouchers, then they can avail of the second discount on their return to Muscat. The discount will be valid until 30 June so there will be plenty of time to redeem it.”
