John Kammerman: “We have worked hard with Ever Rich and Tasa Meng to obtain excellent visibility for Davidoff Neon throughout Taipei Airport and we look forward to growing the franchise over the coming months.” |
ASIA. Imperial Tobacco has launched Davidoff Neon cigarettes in Taiwanese duty free following their recent successful introduction on the country’s domestic market.
Commenting on the launch at Taipei Airport with retailers Ever Rich and Tasa Meng, Imperial Tobacco Marketing Director Travel Retail & Global Duty Free Andy Pass told The Moodie Report: “The launch of the Red (10mg) and Silver (7mg) variants at Taipei Airport complements the recent launch of Davidoff Neon in the Taiwan domestic market.
“Davidoff Neon is a king size cigarette targeted at the premium mainstream king size smoker market, but benefiting from the high-quality tobacco heritage enjoyed by the Davidoff cigarettes family.”
Davidoff Neon is priced comparably to other mainstream premium king size brands. The launch price in Taiwan duty free is NT$380 for 200 cigarettes compared to NT$450 for Imperial’s Premium Line and NT$950 for Magnum.
“Our plans for the brand at present are concentrated on the Taiwan duty free market, and we have employed considerable resource in supporting the launch and early days of the brand’s distribution. Future plans for Davidoff Neon are confidential at this stage,” Pass said.
John Kammerman, Imperial Tobacco International Regional Director Asia & Americas Duty Free, commented: “It is early days, but the initial signs of brand performance are positive. We have worked hard with Ever Rich and Tasa Meng to obtain excellent visibility for Davidoff Neon throughout Taipei Airport and we look forward to growing the franchise over the coming months.”
