CANADA. Avolta and Vancouver International Airport this week revealed the new-look Vancouver Duty Free across 2,800sq m (30,500sq ft).
The updated stores in the international terminal reflect a strong sense of place evoking the spirit, heritage and crafts of British Columbia.
They showcase a selection of products across beauty, liquor and wellness.
The airport company said it seeks to include local and authentic food, beverage and retail options to passengers, reflecting “the vibrancy and diversity that defines British Columbia”.
It said Vancouver Duty Free is a “shining example” of this commitment.

Vancouver Duty Free showcases local wines and spirits from renowned producers such as Mission Hill, Mt. Boucherie, Phantom Creek and Sheringham Distillery, with more partnerships on the horizon.
Empress Gin, which achieved record-breaking sales across Canada in 2024, also underscores the demand for high-quality, local products, the airport company said.
Travellers can also explore the mind.body.soul. shop-in-shop, dedicated to Canadian-made wellness products.
Among the sustainable choices housed in this space are REYAL men’s skincare, crafted in Vancouver, NENA Skincare’s mineral-rich glacial clay products sourced from Northern B.C., and Provence en Couleur’s handcrafted items from Granville Island.
Vancouver is the first airport in North America to carry luxury makeup from Charlotte Tilbury and fragrance brands Byredo and Penhaligon’s, exclusive to the new Haute Parfumerie. Vancouver Duty Free also carries NARS, Valentino, Prada Beauty, Jo Malone, Marc Jacobs, L’Occitane, Coty, L’Oréal, Estée Lauder and more.
Avolta President & CEO, North America Steve Johnson said, “It has been a pleasure to be a partner in YVR’s evolution, and we are proud to unveil Vancouver Duty Free and our first Haute Parfumerie to make a traveller’s journey through YVR as exciting as their ultimate destination.
“We have thoughtfully crafted a duty-free retail offering that emphasises local Canadian products, including our private label brand, Explore Canada, alongside internationally recognised brands in the most desired duty-free categories.”
Reflecting on the new-look stores, Vancouver Airport President & CEO Tamara Vrooman commented, “We are committed to creating a world-class travel experience that reflects our community and British Columbia’s unique culture.” ✈
