High-performance: The OCN 44 chronograph |
US. Nautica Watches, part of the Timex Group brand stable, presented new nautical-themed watches at the BaselWorld fair earlier this month.
All three timepieces, whether designed for diving or yachting, boast authentic function and detail.
BFD 100 Multi
The new BFD 100 Multi diving watch is described as sporty and bold with authentic diving details, including a turning top ring with oversized numbers, a sport diving dial with luminous option, and large luminous hands and markers.
Signature hands featuring an open design with luminous arrow tips provide a quick read for functionality in limited sunlight or a dark environment.
The large 50mm case is available in steel and black IP with a black, blue or luminous dial. Featuring a Japanese multi-function movement with day, date, and 24 hour sub-dials, the BFD 100 Multi includes a signature oversized crown and is water-resistant up to 100m. Integrated soft resin straps with the Nautica logo are available in black, white, orange and yellow.
NST Yachtimer II
Nautica’s NST Yachtimer II is the newest addition to the Yachtimer family of yacht racing watches. Updated modern design features include an ergonomic case shape, screw detailing on the top ring, a crisp new dial design, and special-edition Yachtimer movement.
The special-edition Japanese Yachtiming movement features two distinct modes: an alarm chrono mode or a yacht timer. In the Yachtiming mode, the user can set the timer for any interval between one and ten minutes to count down to the start of a race, with the alarm alerting the user at each countdown interval. A tachymeter, which measures nautical miles per hour, completes the functionality.
The NST Yachtimer II is available in a 44mm stainless steel case, with the option of a brushed stainless steel bracelet or polyurethane/leather straps. Various dial options are available, as are nautical colour variations.
Signature screw details on the top ring, bold luminous hands and dial markers, a J class logo on the crown, and water-resistance up to 100m complete the traditional sport design of the NST Yachtimer II.

OCN 44
The new OCN 44, a high-performance chronograph sports watch, incorporates technical features and aesthetic sophistication, said Nautica Watches.
Drawing inspiration from the horizon over the darkening sea, the design features a sunray dial protected by a slightly domed crystal. The watch face, offered in various colours, has applied numbers, bold luminous hands and dial markers, and a nautically inspired porthole design element.
The dial is set in a 44mm stainless steel or rose gold case, with the option of a stainless steel bracelet or leather straps. All versions are water resistant up to 100m.
The nautical design is complemented by functional features, including a chrono movement with the stop-watch capable of measuring hours elapsed up to 12 hours, date window, and an integrated slide rule function measuring speed and distance. Operated by turning the 10 o’clock crown, the user can multiply and divide numbers, and can convert miles into nautical miles.
