SWITZERLAND. Swiss distributor Niclas introduced Asian buyers to the new Axcent of Scandinavia eyewear collection in addition to the core Axcent watch range at the recent TFWA show in Singapore.
Niclas has worldwide rights for the Axcent brand in travel retail. “We’re starting now with Axcent in Asia [travel retail distribution],” said Claudio Dotta of Niclas. “The Axcent eyewear collection is completely new to travel retail. It was launched at the BaselWorld Watch & Jewellery Fair this year. There are two collections, metal and plastic, and they are a very good price, from €59-69 to €75-85.”
The Plastic eyewear collection features nine lines, from up-to-the minute aviator shapes in the Hustler line, to more classic styles and colours in the four Preppy models. Larger lenses are available in the Ski Bum wraparound line and Femme Fatale.
The seven-line Metal collection also majors on popular aviator styles in the Pilot range, as well as big, square lenses for the three Goldeneye models.
Both collections come in many colours, from brown-green and blue to pink, orange and lime. The sunglasses were created by three young Scandinavian designers – Rebecca Lundholm, Daniel Jakobsson and Sarah Tornqvist. Each piece is stamped with one of their signatures.
Meanwhile, Axcent watches retail from €75 to €150 and have found a big following in South Korea, where celebrities endorse the brand, said Dotta.
In other news from the Singapore exhibition, where the company displayed its growing portfolio, Niclas is seeking agents in South Korea for its Wenger, CAT and Camel Active watch brands, in order to target Korean airlines.
