TUNISIA. Nouvelair Tunisie is a charter airline company that carries tourists to Tunisia, mainly from France (47%), Germany (13%), Italy (11%), the UK (7%) and Switzerland (4%). It works closely with major European travel companies such as First Choice, Thomas Cook, LTU, MyTravel, TUI and Kuoni. It has a fleet of six aircraft and in 2002 it carried 867,816 passengers, -20.4% below the number in 2001. Onboard sales reached US$2 million, with tobacco representing half of all sales.
