SWITZERLAND/INTERNATIONAL. Leading travel retailer The Nuance Group and Global Brands Group (GBG) have announced a global and exclusive agreement for Nuance to operate travel retail stores for GBG.
GBG’s retail concepts include the FIFA Official Store, a football-inspired lifestyle store; PGA TOUR, a golf equipment and lifestyle apparel shop; and Disney Naturally.
The new global partnership builds on the success of the current partnership where Nuance, through its Nuance-Watson joint venture, operates the first and original FIFA Official Store at Singapore Changi Airport.
Since opening in early January 2008, the Singapore FIFA Official Store has proved popular with football fans the world over with FIFA Official Licensed Product Collections featuring previous FIFA World Cups; the 2010 South Africa FIFA World Cup; and collaborative product with adidas all selling well.
Commenting on the deal, Nuance President and CEO Roberto Graziani enthused: “We are very excited about the potential of these retail stores. Our experience in the airport market is that working with big brands usually breeds success and they don’t come much bigger than the Global Brands Group portfolio.
“Any airport with more than four million passengers should really seek to get access to these highly unique and strongly branded concepts to differentiate their offer and to make it more exciting for traveling consumers,” he added.

GBG Chairman Jonathan Sieff commented: “We are delighted to have a retailer of the quality of Nuance as our global travel retail partner. We are working well with them in Singapore and were happy to broaden our agreement to encompass a wider geography.
