The Duty Free Store concept appears at Arlanda T2

SWEDEN. Nuance has opened its latest Duty Free Store retail execution at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport Terminal 2.

The shop opening is part of Swedavia’s wider investment project to develop Arlanda Terminal 2. As reported, the airport recently inaugurated the new Terminal 2 following a renovation and expansion. The authority will have invested SEK400 million (US$60.5 million) in the project by the time it opens a new baggage sorting facility in 2015.

With 600sq m of retail space, Nuance said it has installed a strong Sense of Place throughout the store with Swedish design elements. In addition to many global brands, the store includes a flavour of Swedish specialities such as Orrefors Kosta Boda, Design House Stockholm, Mats Jonasson Målerås and Anna Viktoria Design.

There is also a year-round programme of store activities and events. The current “˜Welcome to Wonderland – Spring is here’ promotion aims to engage consumers with seasonal store decorations and themed products.

Nuance Sweden General Manager Joakim Hörnfeldt said: “We are delighted to open this new store to travellers at Arlanda T2. Our store offers a completely new and exciting airport shopping experience enhanced by digital screens and tablets inviting customers to experience the brands at their full potential. The overwhelming amount of positive feedback we have received gives me comfort that our customers appreciate our efforts to continuously improve the travel retail shopping.”

Arlanda-Schiphol Development Company (ASDC) oversees retail, F&B and commercial services at Stockholm Arlanda and Gothenburg Landvetter airports. Managing Director Roel Huinink said: “We aim, together with our commercial partners, to develop Stockholm Arlanda Airport into an inspirational place where our passengers can find modern and attractive brands and concepts, and are therefore very proud to welcome the successful Duty Free concept to our redeveloped Terminal 2.”

Since Autumn 2012, Nuance has unveiled its new Duty Free Store offer at Stockholm Arlanda Airport T4 & T5 F-pier, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Luleå Airport and further new stores will be introduced later this year.
