HONG KONG. Scental, L’Oreal Luxury Products Division Travel Retail Asia Pacific, has teamed up with Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) to launch the first travel retail Giorgio Armani beauty boutique in an airport.
The 30sq m flagship outlet will open on 17 January at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
The pioneering boutique will incorporate a glittering catwalk, make-up stations, a skincare corner and a fragrance bar. Face designers will offer professional services ranging from skincare consultations to catwalk-inspired makeovers.
Commenting on the choice of locale, Scental said: “Following the thriving performance of Giorgio Armani on the Hong Kong local market and the long-term strategy of the brand in mainland China and Taiwan, HKIA is the ideal location to open this flagship boutique.
“HKIA consists of a diverse and sophisticated passenger mix with Chinese and Taiwanese purchasers representing a considerable proportion of the luxury cosmetics consumer,” the company added.
The success of Giorgio Armani
Scental said the brand has been performing strongly, especially in Asia.
Giorgio Armani fragrances, first established as a leader in the men’s market, is now flourishing in the women’s segment with Armani Code Women.
The secret behind Giorgio Armani cosmetics is a distinctive technology called “˜micro-fil’: a unique process of blending and layering of certain ingredients. These ingredients are specially selected for their weightlessness, transparency, luminosity and their power to magnify colour in a subtle way, the company said.
The brand has also launched a premium skincare range called Crema Nera. The cell-regenerating cream contains obsidian, a natural compound comprising four concentrated vital minerals essential to all living organisms.
Flagship boutique grand opening
The official opening of the Giorgio Armani flagship boutique will be held at HKIA on 24 January, where guests will be treated to a cocktail reception, a catwalk show as well as a make-up demonstration.
