Nuxe relaunches Bio Organic collection with ecocertorganic certification

French natural cosmeceutical brand Nuxe has relaunched its Bio Organic range with enhanced eco standards, new textures and fragrances. As reported, the line was originally launched in 2020.

As of July 2022, all formulas in the collection have been independently certified organic by Ecocert. They also conform to the high standards of the Cosmos charter. The Bio Organic range is now available with Lagardère Travel Retail and Gebr. Heinemann, with further distribution planned.

Ecocert is one of the world’s leading surveyors of sustainable practices. Since 2002, the organisation has been offering Ecocert approval, supported by Cosmos certification, to sustainable beauty brands globally. A Cosmos-certified beauty product complies with strict environmental criteria from raw materials to packaging.

Nuxe Head of Export, Travel Retail & Middle East Elodie Brunner said: “When we launched our range of Nuxe Bio Organic products in 2020 we considered our formulations at the time to be a benchmark for organic cosmetics standards.

“The reformulations we are introducing now are a big step up from 2020. We are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with eco-responsible standards across the full spectrum of cosmetics production, from sourcing to packaging.

“To have all our formulas certified organic by Ecocert and accredited as conforming to the standards of Cosmos speaks volumes for the company’s successful commitment to sustainability. This range is, I believe, especially relevant to travel retail consumers who demand product firsts and innovations, increasingly in the area of eco-responsibility.”

Additionally, Nuxe’s refreshed Bio Organic product formulas are accredited by The Vegan Society for having no animal-origin ingredients.

Nuxe’s factories in France are Ecocert-compliant and incorporate recycled and recyclable packaging materials, such as glass and plastic, wherever possible.

Up to 90% of the glass in its 50ml jars is made with recycled glass, while the plastic for the Micellar Cleansing Water bottle is 100% recycled. Across the range, Nuxe has achieved a -23% reduction in its use of plastic.

Nuxe’s Ultimate Night Recovery Oil and Essential Antioxidant Serum products are now no longer sold in boxes, reducing cardboard usage by -86%. In total, the new packaging has reduced cardboard usage by -14%. All paper used is FSC-certified from sustainably managed forests.

The entire range features revised textures. The Micellar Water and Glow Rich Moisturising Cream have been enhanced to be softer and more moisturising. The latter is blended with argan, macadamia and apricot botanical oils that envelop the skin in a new melting texture.

New fragrance notes, including Neroli and a 100% natural-origin orange blossom scent, have been added to the collection.
