SINGAPORE. The Moodie Davitt Report was on location earlier this month as Estée Lauder presented its latest ageing reversal breakthrough at the World Congress of Dermatology (WCD).
The conference is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious dermatological conferences and is only held every four years.
The WCD is a global platform for scientists, skin researchers, beauty brands and dermatologists to present their latest findings. Estée Lauder hosted the ‘Symposium of Longevity’ at the WCD, where The Estée Lauder Companies Senior Vice President Bioscience Dr. Nadine Pernodet PhD and University of California Berkeley Professor, Metabolic Biology, Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology Dr. Danica Chen PhD presented new data on the activity of Sirtuin longevity proteins on the structural properties of the skin.
The ‘Symposium of Longevity’ session was attended by almost 300 delegates and key media.

Age reversal with Sirtuin Longevity Proteins
Following more than 15 years of Sirtuin longevity research in partnership with Harvard and MIT scientists, Estée Lauder discovered that decreased Sirtuin levels impact skin cell ageing. Sirtuins are known as longevity proteins and control several functions that optimise skin cell activity.
Re-Nutriv, Estée Lauder’s super premium skincare range, has been reformulated with Sirtuin activators which reverse the signs of ageing at a cellular level. Estée Lauder’s proprietary SIRTIVITY-LP technology helps activate different Sirtuin proteins, promoting the skin’ ability to look and act younger, empowering visible age reversal at the cellular level.
SIRTIVITY-LP turns on the skin’s Sirtuin network and activates Sirts 1,2,3 and 6. Sirt 1 gives skin cells critical time to recover and repair, Sirt 2 helps maintain skin cells’ natural structure, Sirt 3 boosts the skin’s natural energy production while Sirt 6 extends skin cell’s natural life.
These activators increase collagen by +174% within 72 hours of use, improve skin cell’s shape by +157% and reduce melanin by -43% after seven days of use.
The line is also infused with Black Diamond Truffle Extract which fortifies the skin, boosts radiance, minimises pores, evens skin tone and improves firmness and elasticity.
Commenting on the breakthrough, Pernodet said: “Through our ongoing research, we are progressing in our epigenetic knowledge of skin biology and the cellular pathways that contribute to optimising the function of skin. We have now been studying the role of Sirtuins in skin for nearly two decades and have shown that Sirtuins are vital to keeping skin cells active and healthier for a longer time.
“By investigating the role of this family of proteins, we showed how much they support key activities in skin cells for them to be healthier for longer and act younger by being more active, dynamic and efficient.”
Chen added: “I have devoted my career to Sirtuin research because of its potential in slowing and reversing aging, treating aging-related conditions and improving human health. What I hope to accomplish through my work is to extend vitality and increase the number of years we are in good health.
“Estée Lauder’s research advances Sirtuin biology by identifying the activities of Sirtuins that are either unique in the skin or shared with other tissues and advances understanding of the biology of aging by developing approaches to slow and/or reverse visible aging of the skin.”
Celebrating a beauty breakthrough
Following the conference, Estée Lauder welcomed international media and KOLs for a special evening event at Flint & Fire, where Estée Lauder Travel Retail Asia Pacific Vice President/General Manager Selina Thng and The Estée Lauder Companies Singapore Managing Director Singapore Becky Lee welcomed guests to the world of Re-Nutriv.
Lee said: “We are welcoming guests from over ten different countries to discover our breakthrough research on longevity science and age reversal at the prestigious WCD.
“This really demonstrates how committed we are to sharing our new research and scientific innovation on this world stage and leading dermatology conference. To conclude the Re-Nutriv immersion, Estée Lauder welcomed guests to a ‘Longevity Luncheon’ at the Artemis rooftop bar and restaurant. Here, Dr. Pernodet and Chen once again presented their Sirtuin research for guests who were not able to attend the conference. Afterwards, media and KOL took a tour of the Re-Nutriv exhibition at the Singapore Arts & Science Museum.

Celebrating Re-Nutriv in travel retail
Throughout May, Estée Lauder celebrated Re-Nutriv with several exclusive animations in Hainan, China. Travellers to the island province were able to discover the science and technology that powers Re-Nutriv through exclusive skincare and retail experiences both online and offline.
