Michael Kors has unveiled its striking new flagship store on Regent Street, marking a milestone for the brand’s retail presence in the UK.

The Moodie Davitt Report Brands Director Hannah Tan was on location for the official store opening last week (13 November). The event was notably attended by Founder Michael Kors himself and Brand Ambassador actor and singer Suki Waterhouse.

Located at 187-191 Regent Street, the two-floor, 848 sq m flagship embodies the brand’s new retail concept.

According to the brand, the store design is defined by a “focus on pared-down luxury and sophisticated glamour”. The same retail concept features in the brand’s shops and counters across travel retail.

The Regent Street store offers an extensive selection of Michael Kors’ ready-to-wear, handbags, small leathergoods, footwear, sunglasses, watches and jewellery, alongside a curated assortment of leathergoods, apparel and accessories from Michael Kors Men’s.

Designed to immerse guests in the Michael Kors “jet-set lifestyle”, the flagship brings to life the brand’s seasonal storytelling through destination-inspired visual displays.

The store combines warm neutrals, natural textures and rich fabrics with polished marble, sleek wood flooring and soft lighting.

Expansive windows and floating product displays bring to life the brand’s seasonal campaigns and immerse customers with unique visual displays.

Kors commented, “I’m thrilled to be reopening on Regent Street with our new store concept, which is all about pared-down luxury and sophisticated glamour.

“Our new store epitomises the incredible mix of styles you find in London. It’s confident, cool, understated and modern – the perfect destination to immerse yourself in our brand’s rich heritage.”

To celebrate the opening, Michael Kors ran a month-long activation, ‘Make Your Own Charm’, from 18 September to 12 October. The initiative featured collaborations with local artists who hosted live charm-making sessions, giving customers the opportunity to personalise handbag accessories and engage with the brand in a creative, hands-on way.

Key product highlights in the London store include Michael Kors’ reimagined Nolita and Hamilton handbags.

The Nolita has been redesigned in a more compact silhouette, featuring an adjustable shoulder strap that converts the bag from shoulder to messenger. Available in leather, nubuck and signature-print canvas, the top-zip design is finished with a bubble charm and multiple interior pockets.

The Hamilton Moderne retains the round lock from the original design while introducing updated materials and contemporary silhouettes, from rich suede with fringe to signature-print canvas. Inspired by a vintage travel bag discovered by Kors in a flea market, the original Hamilton satchel is a cornerstone of the brand’s accessories offer.

Kors commented: “I always feel that a perfect classic never goes out of style. The re-introduction of our Hamilton bag proves that good design is timeless. Modern updates take this bag to new levels of both fashion and function that are perfect for life today.”

It was a full house at the official opening event. The Moodie Davitt Report was the only travel retail media in attendance.
