Origins cleans up and offers a taste of turmeric – 21/08/07

Origins’ new facial cleanser and lip balm

UK. Origins has expanded its skincare portfolio with a new cleanser. Clean Energy Cleansing Oil is rolling out into Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa travel retail this month.

The product is a lightweight, oil-based, two-in-one product that serves as both a facial cleanser and a make-up remover. It is described as a quick and effective one-step wash.

Certified organic olive, sunflower and sesame oils help the cleanser to break up make-up and carry away dirt and debris, according to Origins, while Macademia nut oil and grape seed oil help to retain the skin’s moisture.

Citrus scents of grapefruit, orange and lemon, paired with sage and rosemary, are said to add a refreshing, energising effect.

The product should be massaged onto dry skin, before adding warm water. It should then be rinsed off or removed with a cleansing cloth.

Clean Energy is safe for eyes and all skin types. It is available as a 200ml.

In other news, Origins has extended its Dr Andrew Weil portfolio with a new lip product. Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Conditioning Lip Balm with Turmeric is being launched this month into Americas travel retail, and will be rolled out to other regions in spring 2008.

Turmeric has long been used in Eastern and Ayurvedic traditions, as well as being a staple of Asian diets. Dr Weil has long recommended a diet rich in turmeric, as part of his philosophy for healthier living.

Other key ingredients in the lip balm include certified organic cocoa butter, organic jojoba, sunflower and sesame seed oils, murumuru and candillila, which help to restore softness and smoothness to dry, cracked lips and provide antioxidant protection.

In addition to turmeric, the lip balm is scented with sweet ginger and lime.
