Orlando Airport posts surge in international passenger traffic

US. Orlando International Airport handled a total number of 2,938,672 passengers in June 2010, an increase of +2.1% on the previous year.

International passengers numbered 249,034 – a solid year-on-year growth of +12.2%. Domestic passengers however made up the majority of passengers at 2,689,638, with growth in this sector a marginal +1.3%.

In the calendar year to date Orlando International Airport has welcomed a total of 17,523,846 passengers, a rise of +1.1% compared to the previous corresponding period. International passengers numbered 1,608,256 – an increase of +8.6%.

On a rolling 12-month total, the airport has handled 33,888,362 in total passengers – almost flat at +0.5%. The same period saw international passengers grow +12.2% to 3,104,605.

In comparison, 2009 saw a total of 33,693,649 passengers, while international volumes numbered 2,977,920.
