Orlebar Brown takes to the sea for Autumn/Winter 17 collection

UK men’s resortwear brand Orlebar Brown has unveiled its AW17 collection, which is inspired by “the spirit of the sea and romance of the late autumn evenings”.

The collection, described as a “beach-ready wardrobe to help customers navigate the cooler months”, features orange, petrol and blue colours.

Collection highlights include:

Bulldog Adventure Shorts (£195/US$250) – These shorts are said to be ideal for staying active and relaxing. They feature a reflective tape back locker loop, shape waistband, rear darts, adjustable nylon side fasteners, embroidered eyelets and opening in pockets for drainage.

The Bulldog Adventure Shorts are an updated version of the Classic Bulldog

Larson shoes (£95/US$122) – ‘Aqua shoes’ that are designed to be wearable in water. Features include technical mesh for quick water dispersion and increased breathability, a quick drain insole for quicker drying and a lightweight poly sole said to provide added wearer comfort and reduced weight in luggage.

“Shoes you can swim in”: The Larson ‘aqua shoe’ features an elasticated inner heel panel for comfort

The Travis polo shirt (£145/US$186) aims to evoke 60s poolside style and features a casual neckline and lightweight cotton. It can be worn buttoned up or layered over an Orlebar Brown T-shirt.

Orlebar Brown will make its debut at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition(Bay Village, B3), where it will preview its SS18 collection.

Orlebar Brown Head of International Sales Alessandro Petrelli said: “We’re thrilled to be exhibiting at TFWA Cannes for the first time. It’s an opportunity that is brand new for us and has fantastic potential. We hope to bring something new and fresh to the event and as our natural customers are stylish travellers it’s the perfect stage to showcase our diverse range of tailored resort wear.”

About Orlebar Brown

Orlebar Brown was founded in 2007 by photographer Adam Brown, who openly confesses the venture to be one of those things he stumbled across quite by accident.

“In 2005 I went on holiday to celebrate a friends 40th birthday in Rajasthan. There were 30 people in the group aged between 25 – 50 years old. Most of them worked in design, took an interest in clothing – but were not obsessed by fashion.

“Around the pool, the women in the group looked great, but the men did not.

“All were wearing brightly patterned, baggy boxer short styles, briefs or board shorts. The idea for Orlebar Brown became clear when from sitting by the pool, we had to change to have lunch in the bar.” – Adam Brown
