THE AMERICAS. The travel retail industry has responded with generosity to the Trust Fund established for the family of Pablo Clasen, tragically killed last month in Venezuela.

Jerome Falic, on behalf of the Falic Group, (for whom Pablo worked at the time of his tragic death), and long-time friend and former employer Enrique Urioste have expressed their profound appreciation to the industry via this message: “We are writing to thank each and every one of you who has contributed to the trust fund set up to assist the wife and three young children of Pablo Clasen, the UETA executive who was tragically murdered in Venezuela last month.

“While nothing can ease the family’s pain, your outpouring of support and generosity will help to make their lives a little easier by reducing their financial burdens. It is amazing how quickly the hand of friendship reaches out in times of trouble, and we are proud to be a part of the travel retail industry, whose members have proven that, despite all the horrors around us, there is still enough humanity, kindness and caring among people to make life wonderful.

“Thank you very, very much again for your assistance and graciousness, and a special thanks to Travel Markets Insider and The Moodie Report, who will be donating to the fund all proceeds from special advertisements entitled ‘Remembering Pablo Clasen’ in each of their magazines produced for next April’s IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas.” [Details below – Ed].
