ARGENTINA. A trust fund set up to assist the wife and three young children of Pablo Clasen, the UETA South America executive tragically murdered in Venezuela last month, has got off to a tremendous start.

InterBaires Managing Director Enrique Urioste a former colleague and long-time friend of Pablo’s, reports: “Many companies have committed important contributions to the fund. With these contributions we started some negotiations that we want to share with all Pablo’s friends in the industry. We have negotiated an educational pre-payment up to high school for his three children.

“We have also started negotiations with the IAE, one of the best private universities of Argentina, to structure a prepaid agreement in case the children want to study. And we will negotiate health care once we know the exact amounts of the fund. Please, we encourage those who want to contribute to do so as soon as possible or to commit to an amount we can count on.”

All contributions should be sent to:

ABN AMRO BANK
Montevideo – Uruguay
Swift – ABNAUYMM
Account Number 3732673
Beneficiary: Josefina Egana Curuthet

The Moodie Report understands that several retailers and suppliers have offered generous sums to the cause. We will be making our own donation and would also like to offer all revenue from a special Double Page Spread advertisement in each of the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas magazines produced by The Moodie Report and Travel Markets Insider next April as an added incentive to build the fund.

To have your company’s logo – or short personal inscription – included on two very special double page spreads entitled ‘Remembering Pablo Clasen’ will cost a minimum of just US$200 and we hope to raise some significant and much-needed funds. For details simply contact Martin Moodie at martin@moodie-international.com or Lois Pasternak at Parsnip5@aol.com

The Moodie Report is working jointly with Travel Markets Insider on this project.
