US. Paradies Lagardère and TripAdvisor have extended their partnership with the opening of two new travel essentials stores at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport at Gate A14 and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Terminal 4.
The stores mark three TripAdvisor airport concepts to open in less than six months. At Toronto Pearson International Airport, the world’s first TripAdvisor travel retail store is “already exceeding expectations and sales”, according to Paradies Lagardère.
The travel retailer will introduce another TripAdvisor concept later this year at Raleigh–Durham International Airport.

Customers can use interactive touch-screens to access local information from TripAdvisor’s online portal, which attracts over 455 million monthly visitors. This includes reviews, prices and traveller photos for nearby hotels, attractions and restaurants.
“Paradies Lagardère works with its airport and brand partners to create enhanced customer experiences and stay on the cutting edge of offering innovation and technology,” said Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies.

“The TripAdvisor travel essentials concept includes an interactive tool that’s entertaining, fun, and useful in helping travellers. We’re thrilled to continue to bring this pioneering travel essentials store to airports throughout North America, and this unique store is a great addition to the already strong retail programmes at George Bush Intercontinental and Phoenix Sky Harbor International airports.”
TripAdvisor Senior Director of Brand Partnerships Nicole Brown added: “The TripAdvisor travel retail store concept allows us to further our mission of helping travellers worldwide plan and book the perfect trip by offering them a convenient way to purchase travel essentials.
“[It also offers] quick access to our more than 570 million reviews and opinions on 7.3 million accommodations, restaurants and attractions via innovative in-store touchscreens.”
