UAE. Paris Gallery, the luxury goods distributor and agent for Cartier, Chopard, Aigner, Montblanc and other high-end brands, has announced a new generation of luxury department stores in the Arabian Gulf region.
The company, led by general manager and founder Abdullah Al-Fahim, operates 32 perfumeries and department stores selling cosmetics, fragrances, watches, jewellery, fashion and other products. Retail space totals 180,000sq m and is set to double in 2007.
Since 1981, the firm has opened four Paris Gallery perfumeries and operates what it describes as “new generation” department stores dedicated to luxury products in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh and Jeddah.
Luxury brands carried in the company’s stores include Cartier, Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Moschino, Aigner, Etro, Montblanc and Dunhill.
In 2004, the managements of Saks Fifth Avenue (Riyadh) and Harvey Nichols (Riyadh) awarded the management of their beauty departments to Paris Gallery. The company believes it was chosen thanks to its excellent product offering and top quality customer service.
In 2003, six million people (of which 65% became customers) visited Paris Gallery outlets, served by 3,000 staff. In 2005, the number of customers is expected to rise to nine million.
The stores host product launches, demonstrations, fashion shows and consumer events. Larger outlets boast a day spa offering beauty treatments.
To publicise his retail empire, Abdullah Al-Fahim publishes two magazines (in English and Arabic) and appears on television talk shows.
Paris Gallery appears in the Guinness Book of Records with the biggest shopping bag and the biggest magazine in the world.
