The Quincy Jones Signature Line of headphones by AKG |
GERMANY. Harman International Industries Inc has announced the launch of the Quincy Jones Signature Line of headphones by AKG.
The premium headphone collection, handled by Pasco Gmbh in travel retail, represents a partnership between AKG and one of the most accomplished musicians of the 20th century.
Jones’s productions, which include the best-selling album of all time, ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson, have gained him 79 Grammy nominations and 27 Grammy awards, more than any other living artist.
“Throughout my entire career, I have trusted only AKG to deliver the highest standard of sound – the same standard I hold myself to when I make my music,” said Jones.
The Quincy Jones Signature Line includes three models: the Q701 reference-class premium over-ears, the Q460 high-performance portable on-ear mini headphones and the Q350 in-ear headphones that boast distinctive AKG-built quality in an elegant, portable design.
A share of the proceeds from every set of headphones sold in the Quincy Jones Signature Line by AKG will go towards the Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium, a foundation dedicated to making music education part of the lives of American children.
The Q701, Q460 and Q350 headphones will be available in October 2010, in time for the holiday season, at prices ranging from US$149.99 to US$479.99. Visit www.akg.com/Quincy
SONY NEX CAMERAS
Pasco will also be unveiling Sony NEX-5/NEX-3 ultra-compact digital cameras at the 2010 TFWA World Exhibition this month.
The NEX-5 and NEX-3 cameras make DSLR-quality images accessible to everyone, according to Sony. The model offers DSLR picture quality, quick shooting responses and the convenience of interchangeable lenses, plus smart features such as AVCHD video and Sweep Panorama.
The NEX-5 and NEX-3 have a slimline “˜pancake’ lens attached, making them easy to put into a jacket pocket or bag. They feature an intuitive, easy-to-use new interface via a jog dial and soft keys. An on-screen shooting guide gives handy tips to help users take better pictures.
The cameras feature a DSLR-sized 14.2 effective megapixels Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor. It is far bigger than the sensor in simple point-and-shoot compact cameras, and results in very low picture noise and defocus effects.
The NEX-5 compact camera shoots Full HD (1920 x 1080i) video as high-quality AVCHD files to enjoy on an HD television. The NEX-3 shoots compact MPEG4 HD video clips, for PC storage and web sharing.
Unique to Sony, Sweep Panorama automatically stitches together a high-speed burst of frames when you sweep the camera from side to side or up and down. The high-resolution panoramas are said to have a huge field of view.
The control dial allows users to see depth of focus changes previewed live on the big, bright 7.5cm (3in) XtraFine TruBlack LCD.
*Pasco GmbH will be exhibiting the above-mentioned products at the 2010 TFWA World Exhibition (Stand number: Marine Village R1) later this month.
