Passenger traffic in Swedish airports drops in January but international traffic holds steady

SWEDEN. Air passenger traffic in Sweden fell -6% year-on-year to 1.8 million passengers in January 2004, the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration said in its monthly report today.

The number of international passengers stood unchanged at 944,500.

After registering sharp rises of passenger traffic in 2003, Stockholm Bromma Airport registered a fall of -4% in January. Passenger traffic fell by -6% at Landvetter Airport, near Gothenburg, western Sweden, and by -4% year-on-year at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Passenger traffic at Sturup airport, outside Malmo, southern Sweden, fell by -9%.

Sweden’s air passenger traffic fell by -7% year-on-year in 2003.
