Pernod Ricard announces major organisational restructure

Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët Chairman & CEO Lionel Breton is set to retire on 1 October, following an outstanding career of almost 30 years within Pernod Ricard.

In a statement, Pernod Ricard credited Breton for driving the international development of the Martell brand since its acquisition from Seagram in 2001, as well as reviving the Champagne business after the purchase of Allied Domecq. Prior to this, Breton had been the architect of the turnaround of the affiliate Larios in Spain.

Breton will be succeeded on 1 October by Philippe Guettat, currently Chairman & CEO of The Absolut Company. A member of the Pernod Ricard Group Executive Committee, Guettat will continue to report to Thierry Billot, Managing Director, Brands.

Paul Duffy, currently President & CEO of Pernod Ricard USA, will take over as Chairman & CEO of The Absolut Company on 1 September. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Duffy will become a Pernod Ricard Group Executive Committee Member and will likewise report to Thierry Billot.

Bryan Fry, currently President & CEO of Pernod Ricard Brasil, will step into the Paul Duffy’s role of President & CEO of Pernod Ricard USA, effective 1 September. Based in New York, Fry will be a member of the Pernod Ricard Americas Management Committee and will report to Philippe Dréano, Chairman & CEO of Pernod Ricard Americas.

Thibault Cuny, currently Chief Financial Officer of Pernod Ricard USA, is named President & CEO of Pernod Ricard Brasil, replacing Bryan Fry on 1 September. Based in Sao Paulo, Cuny will also become a member of the Pernod Ricard Americas Management Committee and report to Philippe Dréano.

John Nicodemo, currently Chief Operating Officer of Pernod Ricard Korea, will replace Thibault Cuny as Chief Financial Officer of Pernod Ricard USA, effective 1 September. Based in New York, Nicodemo will report to Bryan Fry and will become a member of the Pernod Ricard USA Management Committee.
