Perth Airport boosts car rental options with new operator as terminal upgrades take shape – 01/08/08

AUSTRALIA. Perth Airport welcomed new car rental company Red Spot Car Rentals to its Domestic and International Terminals this week.

The Australian-wide rental car company will further boost the choices available at Perth Airport, alongside existing international car rental brands.

Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said: “The attraction of new operators to the airport is testament to the unprecedented growth in both domestic and international travel from Perth.

“We are pleased Red Spot Car Rentals have chosen Perth Airport as a desirable location within the Perth metropolitan area and we look forward to them offering competitive rates and a high level of quality service for visitors.”

In addition to new operators, improvements are taking shape at the domestic terminals that will enhance the overall customer experience, Geatches added.

“We’ve recently had a new food outlet open and work is well underway for additional retail and car parking facilities, including the introduction of shuttle services later this year,” he said.

Perth Airport recorded solid growth in the 2007-08 financial year and the growth is continuing. The total of 9.16 million passengers in 2007-08 represents an increase of +13.3% on the 2006-07 figure of 8.1 million passengers. Domestic passengers were up by +13.4% to 6.65 million, and international passengers were up by +13.0% to 2.51 million.
