Perth records all-time high traffic numbers – 29/11/04

AUSTRALIA. Perth Airport passenger traffic numbers hit a record high in October.

595,234 passengers passed through the airport during the month, beating the previous record of 562,000 set in July this year.

International passengers numbered 166,964, +9.5% more than last October. Perth Airport CEO Graham Muir said: “This was a great outcome considering that the Rugby World Cup was held in October 2003, bringing thousands of rugby fans to Perth.”

The airport is gearing itself to welcome more passengers, as international seating capacity will grow +17-18% under the new Northern Winter Schedule which started on 31 October. The new schedule will include Valuair and Australian Airlines, both of which are new to Perth.

The Nuance Group operates the duty free concession at the airport.
