Petsonality Profile with Tito’s Handmade Vodka: Meet Sharon Crompton, Bruce and Dexter

Want to talk about your pet subject?

*If you would like to feature (with your pet) in a forthcoming edition of this regular column, please contact Colleen Morgan at Colleen@MoodieDavittReport.com

The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to bring you the latest edition in our Petsonality Profile column, in association with Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

In this regular fun feature, we discover more about travel retail pet-sonalities, their back stories, traits and habits, as well as offering some insights into their owners. Each pet-sonality is also painted digitally by pets and equine artist Sami Moodie.

In this edition we meet Compass Supply Solutions* Managing Director Sharon Crompton and best friends Bruce the Rottweiler and Dexter the Dachshund.

Names: Bruce and Dexter.

Breeds: Bruce is a Rottweiler and Dexter is a Dachshund, affectionately known as Sausage Dog.

How old are they? Bruce is a lively 18 months old and Dexter 21 months.

How did you meet? I met both Bruce and Dexter as pups through the local Kennel Club in Hampshire.

Love at first sight? Absolutely, with both of them! Rottweiler and Dachshund is not a combination that most expect but they have the most adorable characters and are the best of friends.

Dexter and Bruce are very content in one another’s company

Any quirky habits? Bruce thinks he is the Sausage Dog. He loves to cuddle whether you want to or not and has absolutely no concept of his size. Dexter sulks whenever he’s told off, to the point he turns his back to you. Funnily enough, he barks like a Rottweiler but has no bite whatsoever.

Favourite tricks and treats? Bruce has mastered the art of sitting like a human on the sofa down to a T. His treat has to be steak, especially if it has been left on the kitchen worktop, just within his reach.

If Dexter is told off he will roll straight on his back for you to tickle his tummy. How can you possibly stay mad at him? He also has a knack of snaffling crisps out of your hand if you don’t eat them quick enough.

Family moments for Bruce with Sharon’s oldest son Jamie (on the left), husband Simon (on the right) and son Harry (below)

Social media account? No, not yet. Although watch this space as I am trying to encourage both my sons, Jamie and Harry, to set them up on social media. I think they would be adorable dressed up as Sherlock Holmes and Watson, although which one would be which would be interesting.

If they could talk what would their first words be? I think Bruce would be goofy enough to sound like Joe Pasquale and be singing I know a song that would get on your nerves.

I imagine Dexter to sound more Cockney, ‘up the old apples and pears’ style. He loves running upstairs when he gets a chance, even though as a Sausage Dog he’s not supposed to.

Anything else we should know? Bruce and Dexter really are the most unlikely combination to live together. Everyone finds it funny. The fact they are exactly the same colouring makes them even more adorable.

They are the best of friends and inseparable. Our house and our family just wouldn’t be the same without them.
