UK chocolate and toy brand Playin Choc has secured a listing with Icelandic low-cost airline Play, with the 30g JustChoc Box featured inflight on 27 of the carrier’s worldwide routes.
Playin Choc’s plant-based organic recipe includes just three ingredients: Peruvian cacao from small farm collectives, Indonesian coconut and Madagascan Bourbon vanilla.
As reported, Playin Choc was founded in 2017 by Maya Simler. The mother-of-two was looking for a healthier chocolate snack for her children and, at the same time, was concerned about the use of single-use plastic and excessive packaging in both the confectionery and toy markets.
Aiming to combine taste, creativity and sustainability, she developed a range of products which are suitable for children over the age of three. The portfolio features organic chocolate and environmentally friendly, educational toys.
Playin Choc products are 100% recyclable, zero-waste and plastic free. The brand uses paper-based recycled, recyclable, biodegradable and home compostable materials.
In travel retail Playin Choc offers 66 collectable boxes across five ranges, along with JustChoc Boxes of 10g mini bars.
Playin Choc Managing Director Dominic Simler said: “This is a really exciting move for Playin Choc. Being able to offer Play passengers our award-winning range is fantastic but also having the peace of mind that our chocolate is free from the 14 most common allergens is reassuring for all of those travelling on board each Play flight, and we are really proud of that.”
As reported, Playin Choc teamed up with inflight concessionaire Tourvest Retail Services to have its Dinosaur ToyChoc Box listed with British Airways earlier this year.
