CHINA. Plaza Premium Group has revealed the first of three new lounges at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. The location was unveiled this November at Terminal 3A, Pier E – Airside (opposite Gate E09).
The opening marks the company’s debut in the country’s Southwest region as it continues to extend its footprint in Greater China.
Chongqing Jiangbei Airport is the gateway to Mainland China’s fourth-biggest municipality, and also houses one of the country’s largest airport shopping spaces – the multi-brand, multi-retailer zone Starry Galleria, which was inaugurated in September.
A further two lounges in T3A, Pier H – Airside (near Gates H02-04) and T3A, Level 5 Departures – Landside (behind 3C Check-in Counter) are scheduled to open in the coming months.

The lounges add to the Plaza Premium Group’s network of airport hospitality services in more than 80 international airports worldwide. They also reflect the company’s mission to provide passengers with “comfort, convenience, value, love and care”.
The facilities are designed with a warm yet modern interior, offering passengers a place to relax, eat, drink, work and refresh before flying. The lounge before security is described as an ideal space for large groups and business associates to meet before flying or on arrival.
Plaza Premium Group Regional General Manager – North Asia Jenny Zhang said: “For 25 years, the mission of PPG has been to make travel better by offering exceptional airport hospitality experiences. Our latest lounges in Chongqing exemplify that ethos by not only providing a calm and comfortable venue, but infusing local culture through our unique art and food collaboration.”
The lounge can accommodate a variety of guests, from families to business travellers.
To offer a unique dining experience, Plaza Premium Group has collaborated with homegrown ramen chain brand, Jon Ramen.

Highlighting local flavours, the lounge offers Jon Ramen’s signature dishes including its version of the Red Oil Wontons, Red Ramen and Special Sichuan Dandan Noodles. Additional options such as Tonkotsu Ramen and Unagi Don are also available.

A range of other dining options are also available including sandwiches, snacks and beverages.
Plaza Premium Group has lounges in Qingdao, Hong Kong and Macau. From 2021 to 2022 it launched its first series of high-speed railway lounges in Changsha, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The company also operates terminal hotels Aerotel in Beijing, Daxing and Qingdao, Jiaodong. ✈
