Plaza Premium Group extends China footprint with Aerotel opening at Shanghai Pudong International

CHINA. Travel hospitality specialist Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has partnered with Shanghai Airport Group to develop and operate an airport hotel in Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2.

Set to open in the second quarter of 2025, Aerotel Airport Hotel will offer 82 rooms and blend accommodations with dining and wellness amenities for travellers.

Marking Aerotel’s first entry into Shanghai, this collaboration with Shanghai Airport Group bolsters PPG’s expansion in Greater China, building on recent lounge openings in Macau and Chongqing.

The new hotel is designed to enhance convenience and elevate service quality across the overall airport experience, PPG said.

Introduced in 2016, the Aeortel brand is renowned for providing flexible hourly booking, quality services and cosy environments.

Aerotel Shanghai marks the brand’s 11th global location and its third in Mainland China. The hotel brand has a presence in ten cities globally, including Beijing, Qingdao, Kuala Lumpur, Cebu, Singapore, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, London, Muscat and Jeddah.

In addition, Smart Traveller, the global travel membership by PPG, will also be rolled out in China.
