UK. Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has opened a Plaza Express at London Gatwick Airport North Terminal.
According to the operator, the new lounge is “ideal for larger groups and families looking to kick-start their holiday in a fun and casual way”.
Plaza Express offers features such as high-speed wifi, zoned seating and food & beverage at a lower entry rate for leisure travellers than the more premium Plaza Premium Lounges in the PPG portfolio.
The family-friendly lounge includes a dedicated play area for children and a pool table. It is open daily from daily from 5am to 4pm.
With runway views, the lounge serves a buffet breakfast in the mornings until 11am. Throughout the day, guests can visit ‘build-your-own-dish’ stations which feature burgers, hot dogs and salad, while pizzas are prepared fresh from the oven. All food, beer and soft drinks are unlimited.
A ‘Quick and Easy’ package (£18/US$23 for adults) offers one-time access into Plaza Express and a stay of up to 90 minutes, with an upgrade to two hours and including wines at £25 (US$32) per adult. The Plaza Express marks the latest addition to the PPG network, with its Plaza Premium ranked as the world’s largest independent lounge network. Plaza Express is PPG’s seventh opening in the UK and its second at London Gatwick, already home to the Plaza Premium Lounge, also located in the North Terminal Departures area.
