CHINA. Leading airport hospitality services provider Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has launched Aerotel Shanghai, bringing the global airport transit hotel concept to Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2.

The launch is a “significant milestone” for PPG, further strengthening its global service network. The property is the Aerotel brand’s tenth location worldwide and second in Mainland China, marking its first entry into Shanghai.

Designed with today’s diverse travellers in mind, Aerotel Shanghai features 82 rooms and includes hourly booking options for the convenience and comfort of transit, departure and arrival passengers.

The hotel has a variety of booking options for solo guests, couples and families, with a select number of rooms offering runway views. Each room is equipped with high-speed wifi, hot showers and complimentary amenities.

Alongside premium in-room amenities, the new Aerotel features a range of dining options and public spaces accessible to all passengers.

On the seventh floor, The Hub offers a daily buffet breakfast and à la carte options, while the adjacent rooftop garden lounge is a welcome space for guests to unwind. On the sixth floor, the Grab and Go area provides 24-hour snacks for guests on the move.

“Today is an important milestone in the development of Plaza Premium Group and the Aerotel brand,” Zhang said. “We are very proud to present the tenth Aerotel airport hotel in the world and the first one in a core gateway airport in Mainland China to the travellers of Shanghai Pudong International Airport.”

Aerotel’s airport transit hotels are strategically located either airside or landside at major international airports. To date, it has established locations in ten cities globally: London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Cebu, Qingdao, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Muscat, Jeddah and the latest in Shanghai – offering 635 rooms in total.

This December, Aerotel Muscat – the 11th Aerotel in the world and the second in Oman – will open in the landside area of Muscat International Airport. It will feature an indoor swimming pool, wellness facilities and a food & beverage outlet.
