P&O Ferries invites travellers to surf before they sail with virtual tour – 22/09/06

Surf before you sail: The 360° Virtual Tour on the P&O website gives travellers a clearer idea on what is on offer onboard its cruisesUK. P&O Ferries has added a 360° Virtual Tour of its onboard retail offers as one of the highlights of its new website to improve on customer information.

The tour, created in Macromedia Flash, can be accessed on the P&O Ferries Onboard section, linked to the homepage. The interactive animation can be viewed using a Flash Player download compatible with the more recent Mac and Internet Explorer browsers.

The Virtual Tour viewer illustrates the offers available on the Dover-Calais, Hull-Rotterdam and Hull-Zeebrugge routes.

For example, by choosing a route using the drop-down menu, users can view facilities available on the relevant cruise ships such as the bridge, club cabin, club lounge, travel retail shop, F&B outlets, reception area and children’s play area.

The Hull-Rotterdam route displays a complete overview of key travel retail offers such as fragrances, gifts, liquor and tobacco.

The Hull-Zeebrugge route offers a glimpse of the travel retail shop on The Pride of York, which showcases the wines and spirits category.

The new P&O Ferries website also offers an improved booking engine and a simpler customer navigation.

The homepage details the available routes, onboard information, shopping and holiday offers, up-to-date currency exchange and also minicruise promotions on a clean, uncluttered layout.
