GERMANY. Adidas and Porsche Design have teamed up to introduce the new Spring/Summer 2009 Porsche Design Sport Collection featuring a wider range of apparel, footwear and accessories in five categories: Water/Snow (a new category), Running/Fitness, Driving, Golf and Tennis.
Highlights include the Water products specifically developed for sailing and water-related activities. The Storm Jacket features the new membrane technology c_change from Schoeller. This technology is said to react to changing temperatures and activities, offering moisture vapour permeability at the highest level and is wind and waterproof.
The Horizon footwear style is described as Adidas’ first luxury shoe specially engineered for water-related activities. Exclusively developed for the Porsche Design Sport Collection, it features a drainage system throughout the foot bed and sole for optimal deviation of water. The non-marking and high abrasion-resistant rubber sole has multi-directional grip.
The colour palette of the new range extends its focus beyond its signature colours of classic black, white and titanium to include sand, green and red.
The collection hit retail stores last month and is available in selected high-end stores, Adidas Sport Performance concept stores and Porsche Design stores worldwide.
*In other news, the historical Porsche Calendar XXL received the Gold award at this year’s 2009 International Calendar Show. The A1-sized limited-edition calendar also received the international Kodak Photo Calendar Award. The XXL historical calendar, entitled Mathematics 2009 – Game of Numbers, presents the origins of the sports car manufacturer’s design.
