CZECH REPUBLIC. Prague Ruzyne Airport has introduced online booking for parking, in partnership with Chauntry, the provider of airport parking reservations systems.
Welcoming the launch earlier this month, Prague Airport Business Affairs Manager Bohumil Neumann said: “I am very glad that Prague Airport is the first airport in Central Europe to introduce the web as a sales channel for car parking.
“Chauntry has delivered an effective solution that provides our customers with the best service based on simplicity and speed of ordering, as well as on space guarantee and the possibility of flexible pricing.”
Utilising the Cloud Computing service delivery provided by Chauntry, Prague Airport travellers can now buy parking via the www.prg.aero website, in both English and Czech, and receive a bar-coded confirmation real-time. As Chauntry has fully integrated the solution with the local car park management system provided by Designa, this barcode is recognised at the barrier when presented by the customer, providing a seamless arrival and departure experience.
Customers benefit from a range of discounts on parking services offered by the airport, including at least -5% discount on standard prices for Parking C, the 3,000-space indoor car park at the terminals. Prices are flexible and will depend on the time of booking (the earlier the better) and the demand for the parking lot, the airport said.
Customers are also offered upgrades to facilities closer to the terminal when space is available.

Chauntry CEO Theresa Hughes commented: “Prague Ruzyne Airport wanted to offer their customers a service that would not only save them time and offer flexible discounts on their standard parking rates, but enhance their service to include the loyalty programme offered by their largest airline carrier and used by many of their passengers.
“Our business is committed to delivering a reliable and secure solution that enables our clients to achieve their core objective of booking parking online but we are always willing to push the boundaries of innovation by developing new capability when needed. We are very happy that we have had the opportunity to do this with Prague Airport and look forward to seeing their online booking channel grow.”
As a next step, members of OK Plus, the Czech Airlines frequent flyer programme, will be able to collect reward miles for parking reservations and miles saved will also be spent on parking at the airport.
In 2010 Prague Ruzyne Airport handled 11.56 million passengers. 48 airlines connect Prague Ruzyne Airport directly to 128 destinations worldwide.
