GERMANY. High-end chocolatier Sprüngli has opened its first retail outlet outside Switzerland at Munich Airport. The boutique is located in Terminal 2 departures, and follows the installation of a previous pop-up. The offer includes pralinés and truffles, fresh broken and bar chocolate as well as Luxemburgerli (macarons).
The traditional Swiss family-owned business has been trading for over 185 years, and uses Swiss milk, fine cocoa varieties and sustainable manufacturing techniques.
“We welcome Confiserie Sprüngli and are delighted that Munich Airport is their first European retail store outside Switzerland,” said Dr. Jan-Henrik Andersson, Chief Commercial Officer of Munich Airport.

“Munich Airport is the ideal location for us to present our Haute Chocolaterie – indulgent chocolates created with passion and in artisan tradition. As a Swiss premium brand, we share common values such as a holistic approach to quality and service as well as a sense of exclusivity and innovation,” added Tomas Prenosil, Chief Executive Officer of Sprüngli.
Eurotrade Managing Director Sven Zahn said: “We are very happy that after successful pop-up staging, Sprüngli is now returning to Munich Airport with a permanent location. The fresh Sprüngli chocolates enrich our exclusive airport offering with first-class quality indulgence and enhance passengers’ shopping experience at Europe’s only five-star airport.”
