Pure Gold Jewellers displays its precious jewellery at Abu Dhabi Duty Free |
UAE.. Pure Gold Jewellers posted +20% year-on-year sales growth at its Abu Dhabi Duty Free operations for 2012.
Pure Gold Jewellers is the sole concessionaire for precious jewellery at Terminals 1, 2 and 3 at Abu Dhabi International Airport under an agreement with Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC).
Pure Gold Jewellers CEO & Managing Director Karim Merchant said: “This is the sixth year of our operations at Abu Dhabi Duty Free and we are delighted to report a +20% growth for 2012. We have benefited from the consistent growth of passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport with more airlines and routes.
“With the continuing support of Abu Dhabi Airport Company and increasing consumer spend, we look forward to stronger growth for 2013.”
The sales upswing reported by Pure Gold Jewellers reflects the record growth that Abu Dhabi International Airport continues to witness and the increase in passenger spending.
According to ADAC figures, Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s retail revenue reached AED809.5 million (US$220 million) in 2012 – an increase of +24% over 2011 and setting a new record for the company.
The retail figures reflect an increase in the spend per passenger and average transaction value during 2012.
