QATAR. Qatar Airways is set to host the Qatar Grand Prix this weekend at the Lusail International Circuit as part of its wide-reaching sports sponsorship programme.
Qatar Airways Group companies, including the airline, Hamad International Airport and Qatar Duty Free, are marking the occasion with marketing events and celebrations. Qatar Airways is Official Global Airline Partner of F1 and Title Sponsor of the Qatar Grand Prix. The Moodie Davitt Report is visiting Qatar and will bring you highlights over coming days.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “The Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2023 has been something we have looked forward to since the announcement of our partnership with F1 early this year. In celebration of the special F1 decal livery and the airline’s partnership with Formula 1 and the BWT Alpine F1 Team, Qatar Airways hosted a photo opportunity at the Hamad International Airport hangar involving F1 branded aircraft and F1 show car.
Attendees included Minister of Sports and Youth, His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali; Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker; Chief Operating Officer at Hamad International Airport, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer; F1 CEO and President Stefano Domenicali; Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation President Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai; BWT Alpine F1 Team drivers, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon; and Qatar Airways Cabin Crew members.
This weekend fans flying with Qatar Airways also have the opportunity to experience a curated à la carte menu which includes a chocolate berry cake accompanied by a miniature milk chocolate F1 car model.
The celebration extends to the airline’s Oryx One inflight entertainment system, with a preview of the race via an exclusive take-off trailer.
Qatar Duty Free has won several major industry accolades in recent weeks, including Frontier Airport Retailer of the Year in Cannes on Wednesday and Airport Food & Beverage Offer of the Year and five other global awards, plus several regional and Highly Commended accolades, at The Moodie Davitt Report-organised FAB Awards in September. ✈
