“We are very proud to be chosen as preferred partner by QDF to realise their new retail concept for HIA,” said Godiva General Manager Global Travel Retail Christoph Neusser.
“Not only is it a great opportunity to introduce travellers to the entire world of Godiva, the close collaboration led to the development of several unique chocolate creations and exclusive gift boxes. A dedicated team of chefs, designers and marketers worked hard on bringing this extraordinary chocolate experience to life. It is very exciting to see that the first results are very positive and outperforming our expectations.”

Qatar Duty Free added that the counter offers travellers “a memorable chocolate experience, raising the bar in confectionery retailing.”
Chocology combines exclusive products with an element of theatre, noted the retailer, with passengers guided in their choices by professional chocolatiers. These have been trained in Brussels by Godiva’s Chief Chocolatier, said Qatar Duty Free.
Chocology houses five distinct sections. The freshly made in-store section offers a selection of seasonal goods dipped in chocolate and specially decorated. Fine delicate Belgian biscuits are offered in exclusive tin boxes, offering a strong gifting opportunity.
The main chocolate case hosts a wide range of chocolates and truffles, including three chocolate creations made exclusively for Chocology. Godiva’s Chocolixir drink is also available here. Offered in hot and cold versions, there are six varieties to choose from.
The Chocology luxurious gifting section features gift boxes, designed in an eye-catching peacock blue colour, as a souvenir of Qatar. A selection of the chocolate varieties is also presented in a chocolate hamper.
Godiva Regional Director EMEA Ramon Iglesias commented: “We have seen positive results since the opening of our new chocolate counter, with sales outperforming all expectations in the first few weeks. Both the exclusivity of the products on offer and the element of watching the fine art of chocolate making results in us providing a truly unique and engaging offering.”
Godiva is one of the more than 30 food & beverage outlets available from Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport. These are set over an area of 15,000sq m and combine with a further 70 retail outlets over 25,000sq m at Hamad International.
