Rado continues on a pioneering path with digital Ceramica

World first: Rado’s Ceramica Digital Automatic watch

SWITZERLAND. Swiss manufacturer Rado has unveiled its new Ceramica Digital Automatic watch, a digital and automatic version of the company’s ground-breaking Ceramica model.

The Ceramica, introduced in 1989, made its mark on the watchmaking industry as the first black hi-tech ceramics watch.

The company has now produced a digital and automatic version, where the time display is driven by an automatic movement clearly visible through the transparent back case.

The new model is claimed to be the first to combine digitalisation and an automatic movement with hi-tech ceramics.

The dial, crystal, case and bracelet are fused together to create a ceramic silhouette that extends around the wrist. The lightly curved sapphire crystal fits the case from edge to edge, while the dial is designed for simplicity.
