Rado’s V10K watch has won the Japanese Good Design Award 2005 |
SWITZERLAND. Rado has created a limited-edition chronograph watch to mark its official timekeeper status for the prestigious Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai, to be held from 13 to 20 November 2005.
Crowning the tennis season, this year’s event will be held in the new Shanghai Tennis Stadium, a US$200 million hi-tech building in China’s fashion and design capital. To mark the tournament, Rado has designed a special limited series of the Rado Integral Chronograph of 420 timepieces. The dial features the official competition colours of blue and yellow.
Rado says its new role at the Tennis Masters Cup strengthens its leading position in China, its largest market, where it has been present as a pioneer since 1982, long before China’s recent opening to the Western world.
The new Integral Chronograph Limited Edition features three chronograph counters in yellow, as are the words “˜Masters Cup’ and “˜Shanghai’. Other special features include the “˜Shanghai Masters Cup’ logo engraved on the case back, along with the serial number of each timepiece and the words “˜Limited Edition’. The model is available with a bracelet in scratchproof, platinum-coloured hi-tech ceramics or with a blue leather strap.
In separate news, the Rado V10K watch is among the winners of the Japanese Good Design Award 2005. After receiving the iF Design Award China and the Design Plus Material Vision 2005 from Germany earlier this year, the Good Design Award 2005 is the third accolade won by the Rado V10K this year alone.
