RegStaer prepares for major Sheremetyevo opening amid tenth anniversary celebrations – 25/06/08

RUSSIA. Leading independent Russian travel retailer RegStaer is celebrating the Grand Opening of its latest store at a function today due to be attended by over 100 guests. The Moodie Report is on hand to report on the formal unveiling of the 70sq m store at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport’s Terminal C.

The company now runs four shops in Sheremetyevo and three stores at another of the Russian capital’s three airports (and the fastest growing in passenger terms), Vnukovo.

These pictures were taken during a tour of RegStaer’s 55sq m store at Vnukovo Airport, which serves VIPs and business travellers using the Business Aviation Terminal; the two Fabergé eggs (each containing ultra-premium vodka and glasses) on the left cost €1,150 each; Note the sleek black private jet parked right outside the store

Additionally RegStaer has signed a contract with Vnukovo International Airport to be the main duty free retailer at the new international terminal, which opens later this year. The retailer will open its new operation there in two stages, the first planned for late 2008 and the second around a year later.

RegStaer is an independent company which opened its first duty free store in Moscow in 1999 and has grown into one of the country’s leading travel retailers since. This year the company celebrates its tenth anniversary.

We’ll bring you pictures of the Grand Opening within the next 24 hours. Look out too for a major profile of RegStaer in the next issue of The Moodie Report Digital Print Edition – out in September – which focuses on the booming travel retail markets of Turkey, Russia, India and China.
