Retail inMotion strikes partnership with Swiss International Air Lines

SWITZERLAND. Inflight retail specialist Retail inMotion has agreed a partnership with Swiss International Air Lines for the development and management of SWISS Saveurs, a new onboard ordering concept on short and medium-haul flights from Geneva. Swiss will also implement Retail inMotion’s proprietary onboard retail management software, Vector In-Flight, to capture and process payments onboard.

From the end of May, Swiss will offer economy class passengers the opportunity to purchase a new Swiss-themed menu. It includes Swiss signature dishes, sandwiches, hot and cold snacks and beverages. A portfolio of new perishable products has been developed by Swiss and Retail inMotion with Swiss retailer and delicatessen Globus. The food offering draws on local flavours and includes a “planchette” served on a wooden board, a traditional “carac” pastry from a local bakery and the traditional Genevan “Maxi délice poulet pavot” sandwich.

The new artisan range will be made available to Business Class passengers at no additional cost. Economy Classic and Economy Flex passengers will continue to be offered a separate complimentary snack and drink with the opportunity to upgrade by purchasing the signature dishes. Economy Light passengers will also be able to purchase items from the new food offering.

As well as introducing its retail management software, LSG Group-owned Retail inMotion will oversee range development, category management, crew training and menu card & catalogue design. Retail inMotion also assumes responsibility for managing the financial performance of the airline’s onboard ordering programme.
