Rome Fiumicino Airport adds 14 fashion brands in new boarding area

ITALY. Rome Fiumicino Airport has added 14 luxury brands across 1,700sq m of space in the new Terminal 1, boarding zone A. These are dedicated to fashion accessories, footwear and jewellery.

Brands include Bulgari, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Moncler, Dolce&Gabbana, Golden Goose, MaxMara Weekend, Vilebrequin, Pinko, Twin Set, Piquadro, The Bridge, Coccinelle and Furla. All are mono-brand outlets except for a combined Piquadro/The Bridge store.

The new area focuses mainly on high-quality Italian labels, said the airport company. It includes airport debuts for women’s fashion name Twin Set and Golden Goose, which makes sneakers, clothing, accessories and bags. These brands are popular among younger consumers, noted Aeroporti di Roma.

In addition to the new points of sale, ‘collect on return’ and ‘home delivery’ services will soon be operational. This will allow Italian and European passengers and those arriving and departing from Rome within the Schengen Area to pick up their purchases in a “convenient and functional” manner.

The Area A luxury shopping space builds on the reconfiguration of Terminal 1, which began in recent months with the opening of the largest Lagardère Travel Retail duty free shop in the world, located in the Avancorpo commercial gallery. Development has continued with updated lounges and food & beverage areas.

Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) Chief Commercial Officer Marilena Blasi said: “The new stores reaffirm ADR’s customer-centric approach, which has led to a substantial evolution in the planning of commercial systems and in other areas. From the traditional approach of designing shopping areas to the design of end-to-end experiences that are increasingly engaging and full of new features and special services, [these] ensure that Fiumicino Airport offers one of the best travel retail experiences in the world.” ✈
