RUSSIA. International passenger numbers continue to be depressed by the Russian and global financial crises, according to the latest figures from Transport Clearing House.
Total Russian air passenger numbers for the January-May period reached 14,115,791, down by -19.4% year-on-year.
International passenger numbers dropped by -18.5% to 6,455,001.

International traffic between Russia and outside the CIS reached 5,515,435, a year-on-year decline of -17.8%, while international traffic between Russia and other CIS countries was off -22.4% to 939,566 in the period.
Russian travel retail has been hit hard during 2009 by the financial crisis while the devaluation of the Rouble has eroded Russian spending power abroad.
