French winemaker Peuch & Besse has welcomed four more collaborations between golf champions and top winemakers to its Wines of Golf Legends collection.
The newcomers, and their wines, will be spotlighted at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, 1-5 October (Bay Village Bay 27).
The four new Wines of Golf Legends are:
- German professional and two-time Masters Champion Bernard Langer with a Selbach Oster Riesling Kabinett from the Moselle region made by Johannes and Sebastian Selbach.
- Dame Laura Jane Davies, the UK’s most accomplished female golfer of modern times with Champagne Cuperly Collection N° 334 made by Jean Morel.
- New Zealand professional and winner of the 2005 US Open Michael Campbell with his William Jones Family Estate Sauvignon Blanc from the country’s Marlborough region from winemaker James Jones.
- Nancy Lopez, a famed American former professional golfer who became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1977 and won 48 LPGA Tour events, with the neatly named Chip Shot Chardonnay from winemaker Riley Flanagan at Riley’s Rows.

Three of the four newcomers feature in the short videos below.
As reported, Peuch & Besse’s Wines of Golf Legends is a collaboration between some of the world’s most illustrious golfers and a selection of outstanding winemakers. Travel retail is the primary target market.
The project developed from the friendship between French professional golfer Jean Van de Velde and Peuch & Besse CEO Sylvain Combe. They decided to combine their common passions – wine and golf – in a collection where each wine is selected by a golfing legend from a winemaker he or she has chosen.
The collection began with a range of fine wines selected in collaboration with golfing stars Jean Van de Velde (France), José María Olazábal (Spain), Costantino Rocca (Italy), David Frost (South Africa) and Ian Woosnam (Wales).
Combe noted the Wine of Legends line now offers three white, one rosé and four red wines, and a Champagne.
In related news, Peuch & Besse announced the appointment of Catherine Bonelli as Managing Director Global Travel Retail earlier this week. The highly regarded travel retail specialist will assume the key role on 1 October.
