‘Scotland in a glass’ – William Grant & Sons introduces Wildmoor whisky

INTERNATIONAL. William Grant & Sons (WGS) has today launched Wildmoor blended Scotch whisky with seven expressions, ranging from 21 to 40 year olds. The range includes two travel retail exclusives: Waking Forest 23 Year Old and Tropical Coast 30 Year Old.

Wildmoor is making its debut in the duty-free market this month with a high-profile activation at Singapore Changi Airport, in partnership with Lotte Duty Free.

May onwards, the range will be unveiled at London Heathrow Airport with Avolta and at select airport locations in the Asia Pacific region. This includes collaborations with King Power in Thailand; Lagardère Travel Retail and China Duty Free Group in China; and The Shilla Duty Free and Shinsegae Duty Free in South Korea.

The collection pays homage to Scotland’s diverse terrain as William Grant & Sons noted: “Wildmoor guides us through ancient moorlands, rugged coastlines, dense forests, unspoiled mountain ranges and imposing lochs.

“Crafted under the masterful eye of Master Blender Brian Kinsman, Wildmoor is a flavour map of Scotland in a glass.”

Wildmoor Waking Forest 23 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky marries virgin oak with sherry oak, enhancing notes of vanilla. On the other hand, Tropical Coast 30 Year Old is finished in a Caribbean rum cask.

The bottle design encapsulates the Scottish landscape through elemental textures and forms

The third expression William Grant & Sons is introducing in travel retail is Wildmoor Black Mountain 40 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky. The spirits company noted: “It is the peak of the range, drawing inspiration from the towering dark mountains of Northern Scotland.”

It features a blend of rare grain, Highland malts and Ghosted Distillery stock, finished in a Pedro Ximenez cask.

Kinsman remarked: “We had a vision for Wildmoor; to create a whisky that embodied the raw majesty of Scotland’s wildest places – not the gentle, picturesque glens but the awe-inspiring landscapes. With unlimited access to the family’s private vaults of prized liquids, I was able to explore flavour unbound by region.

“I delved deeper into my personal memories of these wild places, and what was initially a single whisky has become a series of extremely old and prestigious blended malts and blended whiskies, each one a multi-sensory tribute to Scotland’s vast terrain.”

William Grant & Sons Regional Director GTR – APAC Alexander Carroll said: “This compelling new collection marks another exciting milestone in the evolution of our portfolio.

“We understand the role that exclusives such as this play in delighting travellers and I am thrilled that we are joining forces with our valued travel retailer partners to showcase these exceptional whiskies.

“Wildmoor invites passengers to ‘discover a wilderness in every drop’ and explore a new and exciting whisky universe that is sure to appeal to a wide range of consumers.”
