Seattle’s Best Coffee & Cuban Corner opens at Fort Lauderdale

US. Master Concessionair has opened two food & beverage outlets – a Seattle’s Best Coffee cafe and the Cuban Corner – on the second level of the Rental Car Center at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The location features the full line of Seattle’s Best Coffee and non-coffee beverages, including lattes, mochas, hand-shaken cold brewed coffees and its JavaKula blended beverages – the company’s signature blended beverage line.

The Cuban Corner offers authentic Cuban coffee beverages and freshly made Caribbean pastries and snacks. “This combination allows the traveller to select between a toasted bagel or toasted Cuban bread, a blueberry muffin or a guava pastry, a hand-crafted white chocolate mocha or a Cortadito,” said Master Concessionair CEO Peter Amaro Jr. “It is a great opportunity to represent the melting pot of flavours South Florida has to offer.”

“The combination of Caribbean flavours and American favourites brings something new and very exciting” -Alan Gluck

“We are very excited to team with Master Concessionair and their brand partner, Seattle’s Best Coffee, in order to bring a whole new offering to airport users. The combination of Caribbean flavours and American favourites brings something new and very exciting to our customers,” said Alan Gluck, Aviation Business Manager for the Broward County Aviation Department.

Historically, Gluck told The Moodie Report, concessions in US airport rental car centres have not prospered. “[But] this one is doing quite well,” he said. “I don’t have sales figures yet for a full month but sales have been at or above expectations, and this is our slower season. The vendor really did a good job of delivering what it promised, and the whole airport is just thrilled with how it came out.”

The café is open from 5.00am until 11.00pm, seven days per week, and is located just across the walking bridge from Terminal 1, making it convenient not only for rental car customers but also for passengers of airlines such as Southwest, United/Continental, Virgin America and AirTran.
