Servy launches digital ordering platform at Vancouver Airport

CANADA. Servy, the enterprise self-service platform for the hospitality industry, has launched YVR Order Now, its second airport marketplace programme in Canada at Vancouver International Airport.

The mobile ordering platform allows passengers to order their meals through the convenience of their phones through yvr.ca/ordernow, enabling them to skip queues. Users are notified when their meal is ready to be collected at the restaurant pick up counter.

A new level of convenience for ordering food & beverages is now available at Vancouver International Airport via the Servy platform

Servy noted that Vancouver Airport is on a journey to transform its food and beverage programme to provide more fresh, local and authentic offerings which are reflective of the vibrant and diverse culinary choices in the Canadian city.

The web-based YVR Order Now programme – readable in English and French – is currently available for use with over 20 participating restaurants. They include Canucks Bar & Grill, Joe & The Juice, Pacific Farms Market, Subway, Tim Hortons, Vino Volo and Wendy’s. More restaurant options will be added later in the year.

Servy SVP Business Development Jason Rickoff said: “In 2022, the average traveller wants and expects a digital experience at the airport. We are thrilled to be further expanding our presence in Canada and look forward to working with Vancouver International Airport to bring our hyper-convenient, self-service solutions to the airport’s travellers and staff.”

He added: “YVR Order Now exists to provide an efficient and simple solution for travellers to make quick purchases at the tap of a finger. We look forward to adding more restaurant and retail partners to the service throughout the year, further enhancing hospitality and the travellers’ experience when they visit YVR.”

Vancouver International Airport VP Passenger Journey Robyn McVicker said: “The YVR Order Now program is another example of innovation and digital transformation helping make the travel journey through YVR an effortless and enjoyable one.

“As travellers look for a more personalised experience they will now have the opportunity to order from our fresh, local restaurant partners and enjoy delicious food either while waiting for their flight or onboard the aircraft.”

The Moodie Davitt Report is inviting submissions for the FAB Superstars Awards 2022.

This second virtual edition of the awards will again shine the spotlight on the thousands of front-of-house and behind the scenes heroes and heroines who have helped keep the food & beverage community within our industry going throughout the challenges of the last year.

In addition, this year’s awards include an important new category, the FAB ESG Awards, which have been introduced to celebrate, recognise and reward those people and initiatives that have made a positive impact in the areas of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

The FAB ESG & Superstars Awards will be presented on Tuesday 13 September to conclude the Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference 2022, which is taking place on 12-13 September during The Moodie Davitt Report Virtual Travel Retail Week.

They will recognise and reward the achievements of travel retail employees across airport, airline, downtown store and cruise sectors, and celebrate the strength of the human spirit, resourcefulness and ingenuity in our industry.
