JAPAN. Kansai Airports yesterday announced that Kansai International Airport Terminal 1’s new domestic area, which is currently under renovation, will open on 26 October.
The revamped domestic zone will include a much-expanded commercial area, notable for six outlets (four restaurants and two stores) that feature a rich Kansai flavour. A domestic lounge will also open.
The area will be transformed into an attractive space where passengers can enjoy shopping and dining while waiting for boarding, Kansai Airports said. Landside outlets including the ‘Tasty Street’ food court, which will open on 1 October, ahead of the full area opening.
Kansai Airports pledged to continue taking initiatives that excite customers and strengthen Kansai International Airport, a gateway to the Kansai region.
More expansion and improvements will follow down the line. The new international commercial area will open in winter 2023, followed by a Grand Opening event next Spring. In the Fall of 2026 an expanded international commercial area will be unveiled.
