Shenzhen Duty Free wins Nantong Xingdong International Airport tender

CHINA. Shenzhen Duty Free Group has been awarded the duty-free retail concession at Nantong Xingdong International Airport in East China’s Jiangsu province after an open tender.

The successful bid marks the sixth major duty-free concession won by Shenzhen Duty Free Group this year, further boosting the travel retailer’s strong presence in East China.

Nantong Xingdong International Airport is located in the core economic zone of the Yangtze River Delta and is a key gateway to the region’s north wing.

In future, it will be deeply integrated into the Shanghai International Aviation Hub system.

The new store, trading as Times DF, will be located in the core commercial zone of Terminal 3’s international departure hall. The 120sq m space will become a ‘quality station’ for receiving passengers from Shanghai and Jiangsu and serving outbound travellers, Shenzhen Duty Free said.

The retailer pledged to leverage its supply chain strength and professional operations experience, using Nantong Xingdong International Airport as a key fulcrum to focus on the diversified needs of passengers and create a high-quality airport duty-free environment.

Six in a row: How Shenzhen Duty Free Group has extended its presence in East China

Shenzhen Duty Free said it will create synergies with the group’s stores at Wuxi Shuofang International Airport (won in May 2024) and Yangzhou Taizhou International (where the company has just been awarded the duty-free concession) to integrate the Nantong  duty-free business.

This will inject further momentum into the region’s tourism-related consumption potential and boost aviation-driven economic development, the company added. {Main story continues following the communication below}

The group added, “From the shores of the South China Sea to the banks of the Yangtze River, Shenzhen Duty Free Group has secured another step in its national strategic layout.

“Taking this successful bid as an opportunity, the group will leverage its mature operating system and deep brand heritage to build a benchmark combination of ‘aviation hub + quality consumption’.”

The retailer promised to proactively integrate into the overall development of the Yangtze River Delta, using duty-free shopping as a link to stimulate regional consumption. “We will continue to write a new chapter in serving national strategies and empowering the regional economy,” Shenzhen Duty Free concluded.
